City crews in Sioux Falls have finished the first round of street-sweeping and are about a third of the way through the second pass.

Street and Fleet Operations Manager Galynn Huber says the Public Works Street Division plans to complete three passes this year.

Sioux Falls has around 2,100 curb miles of streets.

Huber says sweeping makes the city look better and it also keeps a lot of waste out of the storm sewers.

He says during that first pass, the sweepers picked up more than 7300 tons of waste.
