Stugart Announces Changes To USF Coaching Staff
SIOUX FALLS, SD — On the heels of the University of Sioux Falls football victory (35-10) versus Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb., on Saturday, ending the Cougars’ season with a 6-5 record, Head Football Coach Jed Stugart announced key coaching staff changes effective immediately: Assistant Head Football Coach and Defensive Coordinator Robert Tucker has been relieved of his coaching duties at the University of Sioux Falls and Offensive Line Coach Casey Meile has been promoted to USF’s new Dean of Students, leaving the football coaching staff.
“Reflecting on this past season it became apparent that our defense underperformed, therefore I have relieved defensive coordinator Robert Tucker of his duties at USF. We have talented players on defense and we are committed to continual improvement toward a championship. The search and deliberations for Coach Tucker’s replacement for the defensive coordinator position have begun immediately, but even though this is a key position within our program there are no set time tables for accomplishing this task,” Stugart said.
USF Director of Athletics Kevin Hesser stated, “USF’s senior management team has known of Casey’s ambitions to move into higher education administration. Everyone that has worked with him recognizes his talents, organizational skills, and attention to detail, and all of these attributes will serve him well as Dean of Students.”
