Teri Schmidt, Executive Director of the Sioux Falls Convention and Visitor's Bureau, credits the people of Sioux Falls for helping attract new events to the city.

Case in point - the Summit League Basketball Championship Tournament, currently underway at the Arena.

Schmidt says the friendliness of Sioux Falls is a big reason why the tournament has enjoyed such record setting growth since relocating from Tulsa, Oklahoma

And Schmidt says the Summit League Tournament is just one example.

She says she hears it from event organizers all the time - how friendly the people of Sioux Falls are and how welcoming and accommodating the city is.

Schmidt jokes that makes her job a lot easier to do.

"Thank you Sioux Falls!  Thank you so much!"

The Summit League Basketball Tournament takes another giant step forward next year by moving from its current home at the Arena to a new location - the 12 thousand seat Denny Sanford Premier Center, scheduled to open this fall.
