Two men dressed as Batman and Captain America ran into a burning building to save a cat in West Virginia on Saturday (September 9th). John Buckland and Troy Marcum were dressed in costume for a children and veteran's event. During the event, some veterans noticed smoke coming from a house. Buckland, a former firefighter, noticed a house was burning by the color of the smoke. He had Marcum throw a rock through a window in the house. They both entered and found the passed out cat. Buckland gave the cat mouth-to-mouth. The cat promptly woke up and hissed at him. No one was home at the time of the fire. Medics at the scene had Buckland remove his Batman mask so they could make sure he was OK, but Buckland made all the children who saw promise not to reveal "who Batman really is."
