Two people, both suspect and victim, were arrested when Sioux Falls Police were called to a domestic incident at a motel on West Russell Street Wednesday night.

Lieutenant Loren McManus says officers were called shortly before 9:00 p.m. to 1300 West Russell and a report of an aggravated assault between a boyfriend and girlfriend, where the man had allegedly tried to strangle the woman.

McManus says the two had been arguing, but he says the suspect was gone when officers arrived. But he says during the investigation, police found marijuana and paraphernalia in the room the two were occupying.

McManus says the suspect, 22-year-old Gunner Bickering of Worthington, Minnesota, was located and arrested on charges of domestic aggravated assault, simple assault and possession of marinuana and paraphernalia.

The woman, a 20-year-old Baltic resident, was also charged with marijuana and paraphernalia possession. Her name was not released, as she was a victim of the domestic assault.
