Brookings police are attempting to locate a suspect involved in a sexual assault on the SDSU Campus over the weekend.

KSFY TV is reporting that authorities are searching for a man who assaulted a victim in a residence hall in a 3-dorm complex known as Jackrabbit Village on Sunday, (October 14).

According to KSFY, South Dakota State University sent an email blast to all students on Sunday notifying them of the incident. The email stated the suspect was granted entrance into the residence hall, but at this time police do not believe the suspect is an SDSU student.

Authorities are searching for a white man between 18-20 years of age, about 5'6" to 5'9" tall with an average build. The suspect was reportedly wearing a yellow University of Iowa sweatshirt and a grey baseball cap at the time of the assault.

KSFY reports University Police believe there is still the "potential" for an ongoing threat to other students, that's why authorities need the public's help in providing information about the whereabouts of the individual in question.

Anyone who is able to help provide further details that will help authorities track down the suspect is asked to please contact the University Police Department at 605-688-5117.
