After having their best month of the season in July, the Sioux Falls Canaries opened August with a 7-6 loss in the rubber game of three-game against the Trois-Rivieres Aigles at Sioux Falls Stadium on Thursday night.

Sioux Falls Canaries starting pitcher Ben Moore suffered one of his toughest starts in recent memory, and the Canaries took an 11-4 defeat at the hands of the Trois-Rivieres Aigles on Wednesday night.

On the night that veteran big leaguer Reggie Abercrombie returned to Sioux Falls, rookie Kevin Dultz stole the spotlight. Dultz lined a two-run home run off the top of the left field wall to give the Canaries a 6-5 win over the Trois-Rivières Aigles Tuesday night.

Last year when Reggie Abercrombie made a return to Sioux Falls, he smacked a walk-off home run in his season debut. The Canaries announced Monday, pending a physical, Abercrombie will be joining the team, again.

Curt Smith hit a walkoff, three-run home run in the bottom of the 12th inning, and the Lincoln Saltdogs beat the Sioux Falls Canaries 11-10 on Saturday night at Haymarket Park to even a three-game series at one game apiece.

The Sioux Falls Canaries' bats fired off a barrage of 20 hits on Friday night, including five from J.P. Ramirez, and the Birds cruised to an 11-3 defeat of the Lincoln Saltdogs at Haymarket Park.
