Early on in her career, Taylor Swift garnered a reputation for writing about two things: heartbreak (totally relatable) and her famous exes (totally not). But this new era has her moving on from the image of the heartbroken, serial monogamist to that of an independent feminist with a more realistic view on love.

According to E! News, Taylor spoke candidly with InStyle about the possibility of eventually getting married and having children. While that may seem like the natural progression of things to many, she isn't so sure she wants them for herself. She told the magazine: "I don't know if I'll have kids. It's impossible not to picture certain scenarios and how you would try to convince them that they have a normal life when, inevitably, there will be strange men pointing giant cameras at them from the time they are babies."

It's tough enough trying to figure your life out in your 20s, let alone figuring it out while your every move is being scrutinized through the lens of a paparazzi camera or an iPhone. Luckily for Taylor, she has plenty of time to figure it out. The 24-year old went on to gush about her tight group of friends -- ranging wildly in age range from Lorde and Lena Dunham to Karlie Kloss and Selena Gomez -- citing them as her main supporters: "They are so fun and know me and like me for who I actually am."

Her last (very) publicized relationship was with UK boy bander Harry Styles -- nearly two years ago. But Taylor isn't concerned with dating at the moment. She went on to tell the magazine:

"It would take an astonishing human for me to even consider getting back into a relationship. It would take something really, really, really, really different—a kind of a one-in-a-million person for me to face all that. I don't have any kid of idea who I'd want to be with, because I don't have any pieces missing from my life right now. I'm not looking for anything to complete. I think that's a nice place to be."

We think so, too, Taylor!
