Teddy Bear Checkup Day at the Great Plains Zoo
I still have every teddy bear I've ever received. Most of my fuzzy friends sit on my bedroom shelves year-round. (My Santabears only come out at Christmastime.) But I am not alone.
A new survey found that four out of ten adult Americans still sleep with a teddy bear at night. For many it is a major source of comfort throughout their lives.
This Saturday, September 30, at the Great Plains Zoo from 10 AM to 1:00 PM, children (and adults, if you must) are invited to bring their teddy bears or other stuffed best friends for a checkup by the zoo's veterinary team. The Teddy Bear Checkup is free with paid zoo admission.
The Great Plains Zoo is also collecting new teddy bears throughout the month of October for their Teddy Bear Posse Drive. These stuffies will be donated to first responders to give to children in crisis.
You'll find the donation box in the lobby of the Delbridge Museum of Natural History.
