Once a week, I have the opportunity to interview Chad Campbell, Executive Director of the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House in Sioux Falls.  During our visit on Wednesday, Chad shared some positive news with me!

"Yes another success story! That's what is really exciting about our facility is that we are facilitating change in everybody's life that we come into contact with. We just had a family that spent 70 days with us. They took advantage of some of our financial programs and the agencies we partner with. We were able to stabilize employment and get some employment for their teen age working children. Then they were able to get their own apartment. The family of six just moved out this week. What a fantastic story of success! That's what we are about at the Dudley House---trying to foster positive changes in the families."

So, what did it take to make the change in the family?

"Basically, it took stabilization because as you know when families come to the Dudley House they're scared and nervous. They don't know where they're going to turn. It's about building relationships with them. We have our partnering agencies come in and work with these individuals every single day and sometimes twice a day holding them accountable and holding them to their goals that we are setting. We can see that progress in their lives and move them forward and not just allow them to stay where they're at."

And even more good news---Chad says 21 families are now living on their own thanks to the staff of the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House and their partners! Congratulations!
