The Book’s Now A Board Game
New Year’s Eve is a time when people love to get together and celebrate. Many love to go out on the town and enjoy a fun night filled with parties, loud music and champagne toasts. While others, prefer to invite friends to their home and enjoy some fun times in conversation and playing board games.
If you are one of those planning on having friends over to share your home and enjoy some friendly board game competition, spice things up this New Year’s Eve by playing what could be the hottest new board game. And it’s not called “the hottest new board game” because it’s new.
With the movie already being filmed, it was only a matter of time before ’50 Shades of Grey’ became a board game. You may be thinking,
Wow! I can’t play a ’50 Shades of Grey’ board game with my friends….!
But you may be surprised. Because the ’50 Shades of Grey’ board game is supposed to be played with a group of people….not just 2 players!
You may also be surprised that the game, even though it has the connection to one of the most racy and kinky romance trilogy’s attached to it, is actually more of a “who knows who the best” type of board game. Here’s how to play, according to an Image Entertainment Press Release:
All players listen to the vanilla-style question before secretly voting on which of the predetermined friends they believe is best matched to the question. When everyone’s ready the answers are revealed for all to see! Once all the ‘Oohs’ and ‘Ahhs’ have died down, any player who picked the same friend as the reader wins an Inner Goddess token. The first player to collect 20 tokens wins the game.
Maybe I’m just a little disappointed. After reading the books (ok…a couple of times!), I was really hoping for something that would turn up the heat a little instead of something more like ‘Truth Or Dare’. But then again, after a couple of bottles of wine or your favorite adult beverages have been consumed and after a couple turns of the board game, maybe that could lead to someone’s own private ’50 Shades’ party later in the night! (wink wink) It also might help that there is also a Red Room Expansion Pack that can be purchased that promises to raise the stakes and have everyone talking long after the game is finished!
