The Newest Wedding Trend – Dress Trashing
When I was younger, I remember many people preserving their wedding dress. You’d have it professionally packed away in an airtight box. Other brides hoped their daughter would walk down the aisle in the same dress. Times have changed.
Have you heard about the growing trend? It’s an extreme version of wedding photography called “trashing the dress.” After the wedding, the bride will dance around in mud puddles or in the rain. They’ll even jump into a pool.
One bride’s video is burning up YouTube. Natasha Samuel, a newlywed in Israel, had her friend douse her wedding dress in flammable liquid and then set it on fire…while she was wearing it! She then ran into the ocean to extinguish the blaze. This was all caught on video and in pictures with the help of Eric Simantov, the photographer. Simantov said “All brides are looking for something that hasn’t been done before.”
Last summer, one 30-year-old bride drowned during her “trash the dress” photo shoot near a waterfall, when her dress dragged her downstream.
Have you, or do you know someone, who has “trashed their dress” for a post-wedding photo-op?
Check out the video of Natasha being set on fire and running into the ocean.
