Say what! Prince has kicked profanity to the curb?

Here's another sign we're all getting just a little bit older, the artist known as Prince says he has stopped using dirty language in his music because, he grew up.

Anyone who had a copy of the "Purple Rain" soundtrack growing up in the 80's already knows that Prince was a fan of using some pretty explicit lyrics in his music. Hello..."Darling Nikki" anyone...need I say more.

Well, that isn't the case any longer. Prince has risen from the gutter.

He tells "Essence" magazine, quote, "Did you ever hear Muhammad Ali curse? Would you curse in front of your kids? To your mother? We shouldn't curse at them. We need to treat all of them, and all people, like royalty."

If you've seen Prince perform over the last decade or so, you've probably noticed one big difference about his shows, he no longer is playing songs with dirty connotations.

I hate to disappoint you, but if you plan on seeing a Prince show in the future, don't count on him performing songs like "Erotic City", "Head", "Darling Nikki" and "Come" to name a few.

Looks like you'll have to fire up your CD's or MP3's for your naughty Prince fix from now on.
