Next time you see a Sioux Falls police officer, you should walk up to them, shake their hand and say good job!

Why? Because the Sioux Falls police department has investigated and solved all but one homicide over the last decade.

That my friend, is some pretty good statistics.

On Wednesday the police department released its crime statistics for 2014 and Sioux Falls police solved all six of the homicides committed last year. On average, only 64% of murder cases get solved in the U.S. throughout a given year.

There have been a total of 48 homicides in Sioux Falls over the last 10 years.

Daniel Eastman is the only homicide since 2004 to go unsolved. Eastman was a homeless man who was found stabbed in the stomach in August of 2011. He died three months later.

Here's another reason to give a Sioux Falls cop a pat on the back, the department's clearance rate of serious crimes like rape, robbery and aggravated assault all beat the national average according to Sam Clemens, spokesperson for the Sioux Falls police department.
