Here’s a few of the stories that had Sioux Falls talking this week:

Pamela Cokeley of Scotland, SD. claimed a $10,000 Powerball prize. She purchased her winning ticket at Paul’s Kwik Stop in Yankton.
Authorities say someone stole an undisclosed amount of cash from lottery machines at a bar in Howard and tried to break into a second bar. The Longbranch Bar was broken into in the early morning hours Sunday. The burglar or burglars then tried but failed to break into Maroney’s Bar. Both businesses are on Howard’s Main Street. (AP)
Time to tie on a ‘Chubby Darter’ and toss it in. Yes, that’s fishing talk… A nice 27 inch walleye was caught on the southern end of Lake Oahe this past weekend. The angler goes by the name “Big Mike”. See it here to get fishing fever in South Dakota!
A tanker truck carrying about 10,000 gallons of gasoline overturned Monday afternoon in Sioux Falls .The truck driver was not hurt, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. The accident shut down a portion of the Ellis road near Mulberry Street. The driver was cited for careless driving.
Police arrested 62-year-old Gregory Alan Johnson, 30-year-old John James Johnson and 24-year-old Terra Jean Hopp on several several charges, including maintaining a drug house, and keeping a vicious animal after a search was conducted in their Chancellor home. Also, one of the homeowner’s three dogs got loose and attacked the police dog. It was shot and killed. (source)
The Sioux Falls park system still has to remove some trees, debris, and downed trees along waterways, but all the of city parks are now open. Some removal of branch hangers and trees along the bike trail system is still ongoing due to last months ice storm.
Lindgerwood, ND. police had their hands full after arresting a naked man walking around at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Wait… there’s more. He then proceeded to break the patrol car window and slide out to continue his nudie-stroll. He was then apprehended in a nearby field. (source) 3 in the morning…perfectly normal. 3 in the afternoon? Well, now that’s just wrong.
Sioux Falls police checked a number of businesses in an alcohol sting Monday night. Surprisingly, two Casey’s General Stores in Sioux Falls failed the compliance check and the clerks will appear in court for selling alcohol to a minor.
