There is an area of the city I have always dreamed about living in. When I first moved to Sioux Falls in the early 90's, I had a friend who lived in a house off Southeastern Avenue nestled in a neighborhood that resembled those in a Better Homes and Gardens magazine with majestic tree-lined streets.

If you ever drive Southeastern Avenue between 26th and 49th Streets, you probably know the area I'm talking about.

There is no way a single, female radio DJ in Sioux Falls, South Dakota will ever afford a house in this area, but a girl can dream. I love driving through this area during Christmastime. The houses are all decked out with bright holiday lights. It can really put you in the holiday spirit.

Recently, I saw where one of the houses in my dream neighborhood is for sale. The Stonehedge Castle (my name for it - the realtor is calling it "The Castle at Stonehedge" - sounds more sophisticated) is listed by Century 21 Advantage for $1,750,000. Needless to say, I won't be putting in an offer on this house.

The European style "castle" has six bedrooms, four baths and two half baths. It's 4,898 square feet and situated on almost 5.5 acres. Remember folks, we are talking about a home inside city limits just off Southeastern Avenue. Five acres! The home is in Old Orchard Heights on Stonehedge Lane.

There's a full size tennis court to keep you active and plenty of space to take walks around the property. Although the outside features a perfectly manicured landscape and lots of room for entertaining, the inside is a little outdated. But, if you have $1.75 million to drop on the house, you probably have another $500,000 to bring it up to date.

If you buy this house and need someone to live in the gate house and take care of your lawn, give me a call.
