This Weekend in the Sioux Empire
Looks like it's going to be a cold, wet, windy weekend in the Sioux Empire. Bundle up and check out some of these fun activities:
SIOUX FALLS SKYFORCE…this Friday and Saturday at7:00pm at the Sioux Falls Arena. The Force plays host to the Rio Grande Valley.
BIXBY’S INFLATABLE RAINFOREST…this Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. See a variety of stage shows and live animal encounters, children discover the importance of conservation, preservation and going green. There will be magic, singing, stage shows, parades, live animals, craft activities, character meet and greets and more. $10 per person. Children 1 and under are free.
FROSTY FROLICS WEEKEND this Friday, Saturday and Sunday:
*Friday night is the kick-off at Great Bear Recreation Park with fireworks and an indoor concert.
*Saturday’s events include the Frosty Frolics 1 mile fun run, 5k and 10K walk/run at Spencer Park at 9am. At 10am it’s the ice fishing derby at Family Park, near west 12th and Tea-Ellis Road. Starting at 10:30am at Kuehn Community Center it’s Winterfest with indoor activities including crafts, games and refreshments. At 4pm at Memorial Ice Rink there will be hockey and figure skating lessons and more!
*Sunday’s events include snowboarding and skiing races at Great Bear and then at Memorial Ice Rink starting at 1pm there will be photo ops with Frosty the Snowman, Stampede hockey players, carnival on ice, Zoo mobile and more.
PHIL BAKER CONCERT this Saturday at 10:30am at O’Gorman Lorang Theater. The concert is a benefit for Children’s Care Hospital and School. Kids through age 15 attend free through community sponsors. Tickets are $5 for age 16 and over.
Twins fans don't forget next Tuesday is the TWINS WINTER CARAVAN…At the Elmen Center. Meet Brian Dozier, Terry Steinbach, Rod Gardenhire and Dick Bremer. Tickets are free with your donation to the Augustana Baseball Program. Get your tickets at the Results Radio studio at 5100 S. Tennis Lane during business hours Mon-Fri 8:00-5:30pm.
