This Weekend in the Sioux Empire

We hope you're having a safe and fun Thanksgiving weekend in the Sioux Empire. If you're all done shopping, why don't you checkout some of the fun things to do for the entire family, highlighted by the Parade of Lights on Friday night. Here are just a few:

PARADE OF LIGHTS…Friday at 7:30pm in downtown Sioux Falls.  See dazzling lighted holiday floats and music along Phillips Avenue from 14^th Street to 5^th Street.

SIOUX FALLS STAMPEDE…Friday at 7:05pm at the Sioux Falls Arena.  The Stampede host the Sioux City Musketeers. 

JINGLE BELL 5K RUN/WALK…Friday at 6:30pm at Falls Park.  A benefit for the Arthritis Foundation.  Wear a holiday-themed costume.  Get more details by calling 201-7973.

SIOUX FALLS SKYFORCE…Saturday at 7pm at the Sioux Falls Arena.  It’s the home opener.  The Skyforce host the Iowa Energy.

DOWNTOWN HOLIDAYS FESTIVAL…On Saturday you can visit downtown Sioux Falls and see carolers, strolling instrumental groups, carriage rides and Santa will be making visits too.

DISCOVER THE DINOSAURS…Friday- Sunday at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.  A hands on exhibit including up to 60 animatronic and museum quality dinosaur replicas.  Other activities include a play area, Dino coloring area, scavenger hunt, face painting, dinosaur inflatables, mini golf and more!  Noon-9pm Friday, 10am-8pm Saturday and 10am-7pm Sunday.  Admission 12 and older $15, over 65 $10, children 2-11 $10 and under 2 free. 

CHRISTMAS AT THE WESTERN MALL…Thanksgiving Day through January 1^st.  See the digital light display set to holiday music.  Free-will donations support Make-A-Wish South Dakota.

WINTER WONDERLAND AT FALLS PARK...the 10th annual Winter Wonderland at Falls Park is a dazzling display of holiday lights for all ages. Falls Park will “light up” nightly from now January 6, 2013. See thousands of lights throughout the park turned on for the season, Santa & Mrs. Claus, reindeer and animal friends, music and refreshments will be available throughout the evening. Falls Park entrances will be closed throughout the evening to drive through traffic.Park downtown and ride the free trolley to Falls Park on Saturdays from 10am-8pm.
