Happy Birthday, Nick Carter!

I've always remembered his birthday was January 28th because it is one week before mine! It is also Joey Fatone's birthday from N Sync so I had a hard time deciding which group to go with today, but in the end a Twitter poll voted BSB!

So here we go.

"Shape of My Heart" was the lead single from the group's Black & Blue album. (I think this album is my fave. Maybe. Depends on the day.)

The song debuted at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached #8 on Billboard Top 40 Mainstream chart.

In promotion for this album, the guys did an 'Around the World in 100 Hours' promotion on their own private black and blue jet! While on this rendezvous around the world "Shape of My Heart" was performed a cappella on every continent! (Except Antarctica.)

According to Wikipedia:

On MTV's Total Request Live the music video broke the Backstreet Boys' own record for longest running number-one song, which was previously held by "Larger than Life" (1999). The video spent 61 days at the top position. The song also earned a Grammy Award nomination during the 44th Grammy Awards for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. This was featured on the 2001 compilation album Now That's What I Call Music! 6.

I also recall this video was featured on MTV's Making the Video. I loved that show. Getting to watch the behind the scenes of music video magic.

"Shape of My Heart" was directed by Matthew Rolston in monochrome to give it a black and blue tint. Very clever!
