The last five minutes of the game belonged to Iowa as the Energy escape with a 129-121 victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce Monday night seen by 2,022 at Wells Fargo Arena.

Most of the contest involved Iowa (24-17) leading, but with 5:13 left, Skyforce forward Craig Smith hit two free throws to give a 111-110 lead to the visitors.  Getting there was a huge battle as Sioux Falls (25-19) needed a 23-8 surge to forge the advantage.  Credit to Moses Ehambe and Othyus Jeffers as those two keyed the scoring punch needed to walk away with the win.

Ehambe came off the bench to lead Iowa with 27 points with Washington Wizards assignee Glen Rice, Jr. providing 23 points and 10 rebounds.  For Sioux Falls Henry Walker was searing the nets in the first half with 25 points on 9 of 11 shooting.  Walker finished with 31 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals.  Tre Kelley added 26 points and 7 assists while Anthony Mason Jr. posted 21 tallies and 10 rebounds.  Walker has been tearing it up for the Skyforce and you can see his influence in the clip below.

Iowa’s triumph now puts them one half game ahead of Sioux Falls in the standings and squares the season series at 4 games apiece.  This is the last regular season meeting between these two rivals.

The next mission for these two teams will be on their respective home floors as Iowa will host Fort Wayne on Thursday.  Sioux Falls returns to the Sanford Pentagon for a Friday night date with the Idaho Stampede.
