When I first saw this article, I thought, “Well that is ridiculous, of course you should get toxic people out of your life! This is only common sense. Who wouldn’t?”  The more closely I read it however; I discovered that there have been times when I’ve had several f these in my own life.

The Office Gosssip- If you don’t want your bosses to wonder about your virtue, divest your life of this person ASAP! You’ll feel better about yourself and you’ll be more a part of your own office universe without this person’s baggage weighing you down.

The Sad Sack- Simply put, when you surround yourself with positive people, you’re going to be more positive. Yes you should support your friends when they’re down, but if all they are is ‘down’ - -all the time, suggest other helpful options for them and move on.

The Schemer-If you spend a lot of time hanging out with someone who constantly gets one or both of you in trouble at work or in your personal life- - -why are you wasting your time!!

The Bad Influence-We all have had friends like this, I imagine, but if you’re intent on living your own life as an adult, find people, places and things that inspire you and bounce the unhealthy sway this person has over you!

Your Gazillion Facebook Friends-   How many of these people really know you; actually care about you or motivate you?  Shut off the stupid computer and really invest in your life, your family, your health, your real friends- - - once-in-a-while!
