If you own a dog named Trigger it would be wise to never let it anywhere near your firearms. The irony of a dog Trigger for a name would be too... never mind, it happened.

A woman hunting waterfowl in Kosciusko County, Indiana was shot in the foot by her dog, Trigger. 25-year-old Allie Carter laid her 12-gauge shotgun on the ground for some reason when Trigger, the dog, stepped on the trigger, the switch on the shotgun that makes the bang.

In case you are wondering, no, the safety was not engaged on the firearm. Carter was treated and released for injuries to her foot and toes.

The bright side of this story is that Indiana conservation officers plan to use this story to teach people about safety, and to never name a hunting dog Trigger.
