Two Children Hit by Vehicle in Front of Harrisburg High School

Two children attempting to cross Willow St. from the Harrisburg High School were struck by a vehicle Wednesday (August 19) night at approximately 7:30 PM. The children, a 14 year old girl and 7 year old boy, were struck by a westbound car driven by a 35 year old woman from Beresford.

The crash happened at the area of the crosswalk where the traffic control light was flashing yellow for the east and westbound traffic. One patient was transported by helicopter and one patient was transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals. The extent of injuries were not life threatening. Speed, alcohol and drugs were not a factor. Investigation on going.
