Two men are accused of robbing a drinking companion in downtown Sioux Falls early Friday.

Officer Sam Clemens says the 22-year-old victim told police he didn't know the others, but they had been at a bar and were walking to another around 12:15am when he was robbed near 10th & Phillips.

He says the two men decided they wanted the victim's money. They punched him and when he fell to the ground they kicked him before taking his cash and running away.

Clemens says witnesses in a car helped police find the two suspects.

He says 23-year-old Baaron Jonedgar Knox of Sioux Falls and 29-year-old Terrence Lamont Banks, a transient, are both charged with second-degree robbery and Banks also is charged with fleeing police.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of a possible concussion.
