An early morning traffic stop was the impetus for a significant drug bust Friday in Sioux Falls.

Officers stopped a vehicle about 12:25 AM near 18th Street and 2nd Avenue with two occupants inside because the vehicle was driven by a woman who had an outstanding warrant against her. During the course of the traffic stop, officers had probable cause to search the vehicle and brought in a K-9 unit to investigate.

The K-9 unit found a cache of drugs which was eventually published on the Police Department’s Twitter account. Both women who are from Sioux Falls were arrested.

Honey Lynn Swalley, 35, and Feather Leann Cottier, 26, are charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, False Impersonation and both women also had outstanding warrants.
