Sioux Falls Froze with Icepocalypse 2013 – Remember It with These Videos

It was in April of 2013 that we were making our way around Sioux Falls bracing for falling branches and hoping that the batteries in the flashlight were still good. The Ice Storm of 2013 A.K.A Icepocalypse hit Sioux Falls on April 9, 2013. Freezing rain covered everything in ice, brought down trees and knocking out power. The sound of cracking and falling branches is etched in my memory. Then, of course, it snowed several inches a few days later.

We were without power at our house for two night. It was no where near as fun as that episode of Friends led me to believe it would be.
