16 and Pregnant star Valerie Fairman has died at the age of 23, and according to her family, it appears to be due to an overdose.

According to TMZ, Valerie was found unresponsive in the bathroom at her friend's house in Pennsylvania.

"The coroner is conducting toxicology tests to determine the exact cause of death but we're told it appears to be an OD," the site reports.

Her 7-year-old daughter, Nevaeh, is with Valerie's mother.

Valerie first appeared on the second season of 16 and Pregnant in 2010, appearing at 15 years old at the time. The episode documented the birth of her daughter Neveah and her rocky relationship with the baby's father, Matt.

As TMZ also notes, Valerie was arrested several times recently for charges including prostitution last year. "Just last week she was busted for resisting arrest and providing false ID to law enforcement," they add. Her struggle with drugs was also documented on 16 and Pregnant.
