One would think South Dakotas smaller towns should be somewhat safe from the vandalism and crime that now appears to have a firm grip on the city of Sioux Falls.

I personally know at least two people who have relocated to smaller bedroom communities around Sioux Falls to reduce their chances of being subjected to all that crap.

The activities in Harrisburg during the early morning hours on Wednesday (June 28) prove no town, big, or small, is immune. That type of crime can, and does happen, pretty much everywhere these days.

KSFY TV is reporting that three different vehicles were burglarized in Harrisburg on Wednesday morning.

Rocks were used to smash out windows in the cars. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office told KSFY TV that vandals stole purses, shoes, money, and other belongings from inside the vehicles.

This latest bout of vandalism here in the Sioux Empire should serve as an excellent reminder, that regardless of where you live, you always need to remove anything valuable from inside your vehicle. Especially if you plan to be away from your car for an extended period of time.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with further information regarding Wednesday mornings crimes to please contact them at 764-5651. You can also call the Crime Stoppers number at 367-7007.
