People always talk about how grateful they are to our veterans for their military service. But how many employers are putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to hiring our veterans? Apparently there are numerous businesses in Sioux Falls that want to.

Granted, our unemployment rate here in South Dakota is low, (3.9% as of July 2013, Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics), but try telling that to someone who is long-term unemployed and a veteran.

With that in mind, The Department of Labor and Regulation, VFW Post 628, American Legion, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Disabled Veterans of America and U.S. Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor the Veterans and Spouses Job Fair. This annual event is taking place at a new venue, the Elmen Center at 33rd and Grange, on the Augustana College campus, this Wednesday, August 21st from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This event is absolutely free for Veterans, Guardsmen, Reservists and their spouses. So if you are an unemployed or underemployed service member or spouse, come dressed for success with your winning attitude and find what could be a new career path for you. Resumes and references are recommended. For more information, call Tom or Jim at 605-367-5300.
