Happy Birthday came on Valentine's Day for a pair of eaglets in Rome, Georgia.

I've been hooked on this nest for a few years, just after the Decorah, Iowa pair went viral.

Well the Rome, Georgia Eagles have been so entertaining this season.  From building the nest to taking turns sitting on the eggs.  And now, keeping up with two new hungry beaks.

Just this morning as it was about to get light, mom stood up and to get out of the nest bowl.  She didn't realize one of the eaglets was attached to her foot.  He went flying off to the side of the nest.  Whew!  Saved by a dead fish!

Then dad comes in for a landing bringing new lumber for the frame of the nest.  Looks at lone eaglet, looks at mom and becomes really confused.

Now here's the God moment.  Mom decides to go back on the nest bowl.  Dad recognizes the trauma of the eaglet in distress, scoops it between his feet and covers it up.  Then awhile later as he starts to get up he's sliding toward the center of the nest bowl while pushing his charge to mom.

Looooooooooog exhale!  All is calm in the nest once again.
