We are deep in the throes of preparations for my daughters wedding. It started out as a modest affair but has since blossomed into something that I guess will be revealed to me at a later date.

As the father of the bride I'm on a need to know basis.

Friend & father of a recently married daughter, Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether, gave me some profound advice about the days leading up to a daughter's wedding day:  "Slow down and enjoy every moment." And that's just what I'm doing.

One of the blessings I'm enjoying in the preparation for my daughters wedding is taking dance lessons. This is in an effort to minimize injury to anyone who might be partnered with me at the reception dance.

One of the side benefits of taking these lessons is that I get to spend quality time with my daughter, wife, and our dear friend and dance Goddess Dese Aamlid.

I have all of the dance skills of a fire hydrant.  But with Dese's humor, talent, patience, & really good HMO I'm hoping to learn a step or two that will help me and others survive any time I spend on the dance floor.

Tuesday night was our first dance lesson and we had a blast!  In this video clip Dese explains to my daughter why it's important to keep that neutral zone between you and your dance partner.  Very important.  I apologize for the shaky camera. I was laughing to hard to hold it steady.
