Western Avenue Set to Re-open in Sioux Falls

Western Avenue between 57th Street and Interstate 229 will reopen Friday afternoon in Sioux Falls. It has been closed as part of the reconstruction of the 57th and Western intersection.

And, in another sign of progress, the city Public Works Department says traffic on 57th Street will be switched over to the north side by early next week.

Also, Western Avenue traffic will be switched to the west side of Western between Remington Place and Crossing Place by the middle of next week.

The overall reconstruction of the intersection is a $5.2 million project that's scheduled for completion on October 26th.
