I'm not a huge football fan, but I am a huge music fan, so obviously I watch the Super Bowl for the halftime show.  Out of 47 Super Bowls, I've probably seen 20.  I've enjoyed every halftime show I've seen, some a lot more than others.

When the Who played halftime in 2010, I remember asking, "Who's grandma chose the halftime entertainment this year."  Crash, on our classic rock station B 102.7, wasn't too happy about that comment.  He got his revenge when I thought Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas and Slash did an awesome job with "Sweet Child O' Mine" in 2011.  He had some choice words for that performance.  I thought it freakin' rocked!

I decided to make a list of my top 5 Super Bowl halftime shows.  I enjoyed Beyonce's performance at this year's Super Bowl, but it didn't make my top 5.

#5.  Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Slash - 2011

This halftime show probably isn't in a lot of people's top 5's, but it's on mine, mainly because of the Slash/Fergie performance of "Sweet Child O' Mine."  I love that song!  Another reason I liked this halftime show, it was obvious they didn't lip sync.

#4.  Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, P. Diddy, Nelly, Kid Rock - 2004

Janet is one of my favorite female singers and she did not disappoint during her halftime performance.  She sang (lip synced) "All For You," "Rhythm Nation" and followed that with "Rock Your Body" which featured Janet and Justin Timberlake and the infamous "wardrobe malfunction."  I also love Kid Rock and his performance of "Bawitdaba" killed!

#3. Prince - 2007

Just a disclaimer.  I could not find a video of this on You Tube anywhere.  This was the only clip I could find and it's littered with ads.

Prince is just awesome!  This performance was super high energy and just made you want to dance.  Prince had help from the Florida A&M University Marching 100 Band.  It was so cool to see him do "Proud Mary."

#2.  Michael Jackson - 1993

This was the performance that undoubtedly was the turning point in Super Bowl halftime shows.  Michael opened with "Jam," "Billie Jean" and "Black or White."  Then, as he sang "We Are the World" the crowd turned over cards revealing drawings by children of Los Angeles.  He ended the show with "Heal the World," surrounded by 3.500 youngsters.

#1.  Aerosmith, N Sync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige

This half time performance had the best intro EVER with Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler getting the bands hyped up.  I just love Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith.  This was, by far, my favorite Super Bowl halftime performance.  Songs included "Bye Bye Bye," "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing," "It's Gonna Be Me," "Jaded" and "Walk This Way" which featured not only Aerosmith and N Sync, but Britney, Mary J. Blige and Nelly.
