Knee operations are so common anymore you'd never think nothing could ever go wrong.

Until now!

Put yourself in the place of this woman:  You go into the hospital to have your knee replaced and five years later you get an infection in that knee.  And it was due to her teeth flossing.

Here's the doctors really odd report:

Unlike the human body, implants do not have an immune system, making it easy for bacteria to congregate near them and cause infection, said Dr. Matthew Hepinstall, an orthopedic surgeon at Lenox Hill Hospital Center for Joint Preservation and Reconstruction in New York City, who was not involved in the woman's case.

According to this story in Live Science, this woman flossed so aggressively that her gums were bloody and weak.

Much to the dismay of my dental hygienist I think flossing has a whole new meaning for me!
