Lots of us will be frying our turkeys this Thanksgiving. But after the festivities, what are you going to do with that pot of oil outside on the patio? You don’t want to throw it in the garbage, and it will clog your sink if you pour it down the drain.

The best place in Sioux Falls to rid yourself of that cooking oil is The Household Hazardous Facility. They will take your oil and recycle it.

Bring your used cooking oil to the facility at 1015 East Chambers Street, just off North Cliff Avenue. Disposal is free, and the oil will be recycled as a renewable fuel.

And Keep in mind as we move into the Christmas season that The Household Hazardous Waste Facility also recycles holiday lights (no trees), household cleaners, automotive fluids, paint, rechargeable batteries, and electronics like TVs, stereos, phones, and computers.
