Animal Planet youtube screenshot
On the “BEN & PATTY SHOW” we have a feature called “The FaceBook / PhoneIn Question” of the morning.
On Tuesday morning we asked “What is the most damaging thing your pet has done?”
We got some great stories on facebook and from MIX 97.3 listeners.  Here are some of the responses:
  • Tom Wingert My Wife’s Dog! Chewed the bark off of the bottom of one of our most beautiful trees. Killed the tree. Grrrrrr He (same Dog) ate a whole huge bowl of used fry daddy oil. Then threw it up on the carpet. Had to replace the carpet. Should have replaced the Dog!
Larry Sneddon My dad gave me a old baseball glove with four fingers., Dog got a hold of it , And ate it !!
  • Tina Robetor Howe I had a samoyed that ate the front seat of my truck once.
  • Lynda Billars Made me chase her for an hour , this was 5:30 AM, my pajamas on, The only shoes I had at the door were high heels…not funny!
  • Pete Gehrke Ripped up the floor in the bathroom then preceded to eat the plywood underneath.
  • Trudi Plooster Haag Knocked over a can of paint, can popped open, dog ran through paint….knew she was in trouble so ran through the house, down the stairs and onto my brothers bed…..leaving blue footprints the whole way, even managing to jump on the footboard of the bed!
  • Diana Ingram Not too destructive, but funny! Our dog, Fred, opened a coffee table door, got out a paper bag with colored candles in it and ate the candles, but left the wicks all laying perfectly parallel to one another on the floor. We should have saved the wicks and stuck them in his poo, because you could see blue and green wax for 2 days!
Stacie Schaefer Stengrim Our dog has chewed on the corners of 2 of the big wooden balusters, chewer computer cord when plugged in n chewed corner of area rug so when I came home 1/2 of rug was strung over house. But my favorite is 2 rolls of paper towels destroyed all over floor!
  • Taylor Eastman My dog chewed up my glasses when she was a puppy. Plus my remote to a tv I still use. Now every time I change the channel I think of her and how she was a pain in the butt as a puppy but I still love her.
  • Scott Aubuchon Chewed through sheet metal that I put up to keep him from in the yard. Then chewed through the wooden gate to get out.
  • Krystine Vollan-Reavis In one hour: chewed a hole in the carpet, ate a whiffle ball, and an entire pan of brownies that were cooling on the counter. Yet, he is a small guy. Part terrior, part Chihuahua
  • Kevin Ganje Dateline: 5 years old. The dog wasn’t my pet, but my uncle’s dog instead: After sliding down the slide on their swingset, I met the dog at the bottom and threw my arms around it’s neck for a hug. A growl and a chomp later, the dog had bit my ear off!  Luckily, there was an excellent plastic surgeon on duty at the local hospital who was able to sew it back on, so you can’t tell it happened anymore, 40+ years later, but my family will back-up my story!
  • Ali Cochrun We “had” a doggie door my dog ripped the door off plus the insalation that we had in between the 2 doors and the wood from the door all to get to a locked screen door!!!! SMH!!!! She has also gone thru every single one of our screen windows/doors of the house!!!! Naughty dog!!!! We fixed her just b/c of that!!!!
  • Mary Hallickson My dog chews ups my earmuffs every chance he gets,
  • Trudi Plooster Haag I had another dog that would eat lit cigarettes…..if people would smoke, he would sneak up and bite them right off in their hand!
  • Hilary Mason I had a doberman mix that could get out of any kennel we ever tried to put him in during the day. It was amazing the size of hole that dog could squeeze through. We finally built him a plywood kennel and he chewed his way out of that and the garage door of our rental. He could open doors and even let our other dog out of his kennel when we got one.
  • Jen Reynolds I thought that I could trust my dogs AJ and Darwin, so I decided to give them a chance and not kennel them when I went out for a few hours. When I returned, the arm of the sofa was chewed completely off. They also managed to pull a 10 lb bag of aquarium gravel (that was on a shelf accross the room) to the sofa and open it up, therefore getting gravel everywhere mostly inside the sofa. And for dessert they – probably AJ – ate my favorite pair of broken in leather boots as well as anything and everything they could reach. It was a disaster! On another occasion, AJ also ate my bosses wife’s very expensive pair of Italian shoes when he volonteered to take care of her while I was on a work trip. He would not tell me how expensive they were – he just said – “you couldn’t afford to replace them, let’s just forget about it.” I’m sooo glad AJ grew out of her puppy stage!
  • Rebecca Anderson My dog ate the blinds. Then ate a plant my mom had since her mom died in 84, so it was over 20 yrs old.
  • Dawn Lea Gustafson My baby Prince Adam Christopher the worst thing he has ever done is hid my work shoes and worse yet when I would leave he would sit by the door and howl and cry until I got home
Kari L Black Our min pin ate a hole in our couch. She deployed some of the stuffing and got gastroenteritis and cost us almost 2000 dollars to help her. Lol
Dawn Tutt Most expensive…chewed up 2 couches, what ticked off exhusband the most chewed up brand new depth finder power cord so he couldnt use for tournament.
After reading these I feel a little bit better about our dog.  THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR SHARING!
