From tuberculosis to accidental shooting there are a disproportionately high number of deaths in each state.

Some people die from natural causes but others become a statistic like in Texas where there are an unusual high number of deaths due to tuberculosis.  Common killers are heart disease and cancer.  But there are plenty of other, less common things trying to kill us at all times.

A new study from the New York State Cancer Registry found which cause of death is disproportionately high in each state.  Here in South Dakota we have a high number of influenza deaths.  In some states the highest numbers are from accidents.
