A father in Port St. Lucie, Florida felt his 5-month old daughter was getting a little old to still be sucking her thumb, so what did he do? He broke the digit so she wouldn't suck it!

When the girl's mother discovered the swollen thumb, she consulted the father. He told her not to worry, it was probably caused from a bug bite, don't bother taking her to a doctor, she'll be fine.

Luckily for the little girl, the mother didn't heed his advice. X-rays revealed multiple thumb fractures. The man was arrested on a child abuse charge.
