I don't think it's any real secret that the bride to be is generally more stoked for the whole wedding planning process than the soon to be groom.

Now there's some concrete evidence to back up that speculation.

According to a new survey regarding wedding planning, the average groom spends one-sixth as much time as a bride does planning their big day.

And most grooms will tell you, when they are involved in the planning, they spend the majority of the time just nodding and agreeing to stuff, right?

The average engagement lasts 16 months. During that time, the bride spends on average 36 days worth of time getting ready for the wedding, compared to just six days for the average groom.

There's no doubt that women are planners. 74% of women according to the survey said they made most of their wedding decisions before they even met the guy they married. Another 32% had even picked out their wedding dress while they were still single!

And what makes guys look even more like a bunch of disinterested slugs, is the fact that the typical bride's mother spends three times as many days planning than the groom. Yep, the mother in law in waiting will spend on average 18 days huddled up with their daughter planning the storybook wedding.

Probably 11 more days than most brides would like, and I'm guessing about 17 1/2 more days than most grooms would prefer. That's not gospel, I'm just spit balling here.

When it comes to dotting the I's and crossing the T's on most weddings, 87% of married couples admitted that the bride did most, if not all of the planning. There were however, 3% of men who claimed to make the final call on the wedding decisions.

Undoubtedly the same 3% of guys that also say Bravo and TLC are their favorite channels to watch.
