Who Else Hates to Grocery Shop?

I had a conversation with a co-worker a few weeks ago regarding my utter hatred for grocery shopping. It's a weekly occurrence that I simply detest.

I don't mind the actual shopping for food part so much. Hey, I love food as much as the next guy. I just can't stand putting up with the circus in the aisles.

I can't begin to tell you how much it warms my heart when two people who haven't seen each other since the 8th grade reunite in the cereal aisle and decide to strike up a 25 minute conversation right in front of the box of Lucky Charms I want to buy.

That's truly a special moment for everyone else shopping in the store that would like to wrap up the whole grocery shopping experience in under three hours.

I guess my real disdain for the grocery store rests in the fact that my wife insists we go grocery shopping every Sunday during the early afternoon. I realize it would be a much simpler, and probably a much more enjoyable process if we were to go shopping on say a weeknight, or even early in the morning or later at night on the weekend. But who wants to hunt down a jar of Ragu at 8:30 on a Sunday night? I know I don't.

So what can a person who loathes grocery shopping do? Well, if you don't mind letting someone else do the grocery shopping for you, there's always that option.

I know the Sioux Falls Hy-Vee stores have their Hy-Vee Aisles Online service. They've had the service up and running for some time now. It's extremely handy, and many people seem to enjoy it. They'll even deliver your groceries for you if you live inside their designated delivery area.

Now I see KSFY TV is reporting that on Tuesday, two of the Sioux Falls Walmart locations just jumped into the grocery shopping for you business as well.

The Walmart Supercenter located at 7821 South Minnesota Avenue and the Sioux Falls Walmart Supercenter at 5521 East Arrowhead Parkway now are offering a grocery pickup service of their own.

Much like other grocery shopping online services, customers can visit the stores online website, or through the Walmart Grocery mobile app. You then enter in your zip code to select a local store and begin creating a shopping list. After that's done, you proceed to checkout at which time you choose a time to pickup your order.

Once all of that is complete, a trained personal shopper goes to work carefully selecting the freshest produce, meats and other items on your shopping list. Then, you simply swing by the Walmart Supercenter at your designated time, park in one of the reserved online grocery shopping parking spots, call a special number, and store employee runs all your fiddles out to the car.

Easy-peasy. No longer do you have to put up with the class reunion going on in aisle number 5! 

Both stores options are definitely something to consider if you happen to be like me, and would rather be audited by the IRS each year, than being forced to play bumper carts with Betty and Agnes every Sunday in an attempt to get a box of mini donuts.
