The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9:00 AM Saturday, December 10 until noon Sunday, December 11. The Advisory in cludes Sioux Falls, Brookings, Mitchell and Sioux City.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.

 

Snow is expected to start Saturday morning and keep going, off and on, through Sunday. Sioux Falls can look for four to six inches of snow. Visibility could become an issue on the roads Saturday, falling to half-a-mile at times.

SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 6 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ALONG INTERSTATE 29 FROM BROOKINGS TO BERESFORD WITH 5 TO 8 INCHES MORE LIKELY ALONG AND EAST OF THE BUFFALO RIDGE.
