An 18-year-old woman from Lake Andes is charged in a weekend stabbing in rural Minnehaha County.

Captain Paul Niedringhaus of the Sheriff's Office says deputies were called around 7pm Sunday to an area just outside of Garretson, where a 36-year-old man from Worthington, Minnesota reported he had been stabbed.

He says deputies found the man with a stab wound to his back. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

He says investigators developed a suspect, 18-year-old Lolita Faith Dion of Lake Andes.

Niedringhaus says Dion had taken the victim's car and was hiding in Renner when deputies found her around 9pm.

She is charged with aggravated assault and felony marijuana possession.

Niedringhaus says victim and suspect are acquaintances, but he doesn't know why the man was stabbed.
