Women are very particular about who they hang out with in public. Especially when it comes to members of the same sex.

The Journal of Social and Personal Relationships found out in a recent study that women really don't like being with other women who have looser sexual standards.

The study found out, nine out of ten women said "promiscuity" is a negative trait in a friend. This was a popular response even from women who claim to have had numerous sexual partners themselves. Nothing like the pot calling the kettle black!

Oddly enough, men didn't seem to have the same problem. Most of the guys surveyed said they were fine with having friends who've had a number of sexual partners. (This by the way would be the appropriate time for the majority of women reading this to insert the "men are such pigs" response.)

The researchers were very surprised to see how un-accepting promiscuous women were of other promiscuous women when it came to friendships. One would think they'd tend to offer up support for their fellow skank.

There's a social stigma that appears to exist when a female is considered somewhat promiscuous. Women clearly seem to be afraid of being associated with other women who come off that way in public, even though they too may have a little Samantha Jones from "Sex in the City'" in themselves.
