I don't know how much of this is true, or if I even want to believe it at all! But now women everywhere can think to themselves, "I'm going to have the smartest kids...EVER!" (This is where we start singing the opening line of "Baby Got Back" from Sir Mix-A-Lot, "I like big butts and I can not lie....".)

For what seems like eternity, women have been concerned with the size of their backside. But worry no more, because according to science, the size of a woman's backside SUPPOSEDLY determines the intelligence level of their children.

Research done in a study by the University of Pittsburgh has found that the amount of fat supplies stored in a woman's butt and thighs helps in the development of babies' brains, directly influencing the the intelligence level of their child.

William D. Lassek, M.D, author of Why Women Need Fat has said that the fat located in the butt and thigh area of a woman is a "depot for building a baby's brain". He says,

The fat supplies a chemical known as docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) which is a particularly important component in the human brain. It's an omega-3 fatty acid that babies need for the development of their brain's nervous systems and eyes in their first six months of life and can also be found in breast milk.

According to the study, the fat found on the lower body has a positive effect on certain fatty acids in a woman's body, which are necessary for neurodevelopment. Dr. Lassek says that women have evolved over time to be able to hold on to the fats on their bums and thighs until the child arrives.

So now when a woman asks the question that strikes the most fear in all men, "Does my butt look fat?", it might be okay to anser "Science says it's okay to say YES."
