Women’s Businesses Thriving
If you’re a woman who aspires to open your own business, you don’t have to go very far to find inspiration. There are so many small businesses here in Sioux Falls which are owned and operated by keen, dedicated women.
Instantly, three small but prolific businesses come to my mind- -Oh My Cupcakes, in the Bridges at 57th & Western, Susan DeWitte Photography at 1612 W. 41st and Lick the Spoon in the Park Place Plaza on 41st Street. If you’re looking for amazing cupcakes, tremendous comfort food or extraordinary family, senior or wedding portraits, these are three businesses I highly recommend from personal experience!
Now another savvy dreamer is jumping into the business pool. Doris Schumacher started dreaming of her business when she fell in love with motorcycling riding. She left her financial job behind and is opening a store this March called Ride Empowered on Marion Road, targeted at women with a love of motorcycles and riding them. You’ll find all kinds of gear, as well as information on events, bikes, and more.
In this endeavor she is also using the services of many other local small business owners. So kudos and best wishes to Doris and Ride Empowered! For more info check out the store website here.
