An 11-year-old Brandon girl is safe after being found by authorities early Wednesday night after she left home without permission.

According to Dakota News Now, the incident took place during the early evening of Wednesday (February 26).

Parents notified police, and after a 45-minute search, authorities located the 11-year-old missing girl in a heavily-wooded area within the Brandon city limits just before sunset.

The young girl was suffering from hypothermia at the time she was found.

Brandon police told Dakota News Now that medical crews were able to provide the necessary medical attention to the girl at the time of her discovery, and she was reunited with her family a short time later.
