Like so many others I am enamored with all things Titanic.  The RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early morning of April 15th, 1912, after it collided with an iceberg on it's maiden voyage from Southampton, UK, to New York City, US.

Of the Titanic's 2,224 passengers and crew over 1500 people died it the dark frigid waters of the Atlantic.  I cannot imagine the horrors of that night.

In the video above the folks at titanichg.com have put together a real time full-length animation of the Titanic sinking, beginning with the iceberg collision and ending with its disappearance. The point of collision is at 1:06 in the video.

These folks have done an amazing job with this recreation.  The animation includes frequent text pop ups with what was happening on board the ship.

It gives an almost haunting perspective to what was taking place as the horrors of the night unfolded in the mayhem that led up to the actual sinking of the "unsinkable" ship.
