It won't take workers long to get this year's featured tree to the South Dakota State Capitol Building.  The featured tree at the Christmas at the Capitol display is long time Pierre resident.

KSFY reports that the featured tree is in the city of Pierre, according to Leah Svendsen, special projects coordinator for the Bureau of Administration.

Svendsen says decorating for the display begins this week with the grand lighting ceremony being held the week of Thanksgiving.

90 trees will be part of the Capitol Christmas display and will be decorated by volunteers from communities, schools, churches, nonprofit organizations, and state government offices.
