Dr. Oz appeared on Fox and Friends on Tuesday morning to praise the work of Sanford Health as a leader in the COVID-19 pandemic. Sanford's trial of hydroxycloroquine will involve 2,000 people who have been exposed to the coronavirus.

South Dakota has also gained the attention of President Donald Trump.

Dr. Oz states the Sanford Health will spearhead two phases of this trial: Creating a registry of data for all who have been treated with hydroxycloroquine. Secondly they will perform a randomized trial which means studying people who are exposed such as high-risk individuals and health care workers.

He says South Dakota is leading the way in this method and other states will more than likely follow suit.
