Additional Information

Kevin and Sara (Homan) met at bingo at the Catholic Hall in White River, SD when Kevin was 15 and Sara was 13. Kevin graduated from Spearfish High School in 1996 and then attended Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown earning a degree in banking and financial support services, graduating in 1999. Sara graduated from White River High School in 1998 and then graduated with a nursing degree from South Dakota State University in 2002. Kevin and Sara were married in White River in 2003. They have lived in Montrose since 2004.  Following Kevin’s sudden death, several friends, Montrose community members, and family came together with the desire to assist the Bartlett family. The Montrose-Humboldt Knights of Columbus, Ruste-Waul American Legion Post 154, along with friends and family are planning a Bartlett Family Benefit for Saturday, April 4, 2020. The Knights will sponsor a pork loin supper with cheesy hash browns, green beans, buns, and bars. The meal will take place at St. Patrick’s Church Hall (211 S. Church Ave.) from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM with a free-will offering.
A silent auction will be held at the Montrose American Legion (201 W. Main St.) from 12:00 noon – 8:00 PM. The committee is currently soliciting donations of any size or value.
A dance will take place at the Montrose American Legion (201 W. Main St.) starting at 9:00 PM. The BS Band (Brian Spurrell), a popular band from the Viborg/Irene area, will play at the Legion.
Please consider being a part of this special day, to remember and cherish the time we had with this great guy, while helping to take care of his wife Sara, and children Elliott, Brenna and Channing.
